LAS VEGAS - The statewide law firm of Kummer Kaempfer Bonner Renshaw & Ferrario (Kummer Kaempfer) is pleased to welcome William J. Wray, joining as “Of Counsel,” and two new associates, Thomas R. Armstrong and Scott L. Halvorsen.

William J. Wray joined Kummer Kaempfer’s litigation department in February. His practice emphasizes construction and commercial litigation. He also practices in the areas of business transactions, including corporate and organizational issues, government relations, land use and zoning, intellectual property, entertainment law and international transactions. He is based in the firm’s Las Vegas office.

Prior to joining Kummer Kaempfer, Wray was a partner at the O’Reilly Law Group where he had practiced for almost 11 years. Before that, he practiced law in New York City for approximately five years. Wray, who is fluent in Korean, received his law degree from St. John’s University and graduated magna cum laude from Pace University as an undergraduate.

He is a member of the State Bars of New York, Idaho and Nevada and Clark County Bar Association.

Thomas R. Armstrong joined the litigation team in Kummer Kaempfer’s Carson City office in February. His practice area covers civil litigation and criminal defense.

Armstrong, a lifelong Nevadan, was most recently a deputy district attorney in Carson City where he prosecuted hundreds of cases including several felony jury trials, ranging from drug trafficking to murder. Prior to that, he was in private practice in Elko, Nev., concentrating on civil litigation, criminal defense and family law.

Armstrong received his law degree from the University of Utah where he was a William H. Leary scholar. He graduated with distinction from the University of Nevada, Reno with a degree in criminal justice and a minor in English literature.

He is member of the State Bar of Nevada and the First Judicial District Bar Association.

Scott L. Halvorsen joined Kummer Kaempfer in February and practices in the transactional department in the firm’s Las Vegas office. He previously served as an associate attorney at Beckley Singleton Law Firm working on commercial disputes and litigation after joining the firm as a law clerk.

Halvorsen received a law degree with corporate law emphasis from the UCLA School of Law. While in law school, he was an editor with the school’s Journal of Law and Technology and was a research assistant studying and analyzing large Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases. Halvorsen graduated cum laude from Brigham Young University with a degree in accounting.

He is a member of the State Bar of Nevada and Clark County Bar Association.
